Business Transformation Manager Managing Director Track About Edelweiss Software Group Edelweiss Software Group is an operating group of Valsoft Corporation, serving as a permanent basecamp for vertical market software companies. Our philosophy is simple: your company leads; we support the ascent. With a buy-and-hold-forever approach, Edelweiss preserves each company's brand and provides the steady guidance, capital, and resources needed to keep both products and people moving upward. We form long-term strategic alliances with existing management teams — we don't buy to sell — placing a premium on the well-being of customers and employees over short-term goals. The Role We are seeking an ambitious, operationally minded leader to join our Nordic operations in a role designed as a development path to general management. You will start in a Business Transformation capacity — leading the integration of newly acquired businesses and driving operational improvement across the group's Nordic software companies — and, as you prove yourself, take on progressively greater commercial and P&L responsibility, ultimately running one or more software businesses as a Managing Director or Portfolio Manager. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to learn how great software businesses are run by actually running them. You will work side by side with experienced operators, get direct exposure to every function — product, sales, finance, operations, and people — and be backed by Valsoft's long-term investment model, playbooks, and global network. What You'll Do Integration & Business Transformation - Lead post-acquisition integration — Plan and execute integration of newly acquired companies, including 100-day plans, organizational alignment, and harmonization of processes, systems, and policies. - Drive operational efficiency — Assess existing workflows, structures, and systems; identify opportunities for cost reduction, margin improvement, and revenue growth, and see them through to results. - Modernize systems and tooling — Partner with IT and functional leaders to integrate and rationalize core systems (ERP, CRM, billing, support) and lead automation and AI-driven initiatives that improve efficiency and decision-making. - Lead change — Engage leadership and functional teams (finance, sales, operations, product, IT) to secure buy-in, develop communication and training plans, and drive adoption of new ways of working. - Measure what matters — Establish KPIs for each initiative, track impact, and report progress and recommendations to group leadership. - Manage financials and risk — Build business cases, analyze financial impact and ROI, support budgeting and forecasting, and identify and mitigate execution risks. Commercial & Operating Leadership - Sharpen go-to-market — Work with sales and marketing teams on pricing, packaging, cross-sell, and market penetration across the Nordic portfolio. - Deepen customer value — Drive improvements in retention, satisfaction, and lifetime value, and help embed a culture of customer-led innovation. - Shape the product portfolio — Contribute to market-aligned product roadmaps and help bring new products and capabilities — including AI — to market. - Evolve the operating model — Help move businesses toward clear business-unit ownership and accountability, with the transparency, discipline, and incentives to scale. Business & Portfolio Leadership (as scope expands) - Own performance and outcomes — Take full accountability for revenue, EBITDA, and cash flow, with disciplined capital allocation and predictable financial performance. - Set strategic direction — Define and execute the strategy for the business's next phase of growth across markets, segments, and channels. - Lead and grow the organization — Build and develop high-performing teams and a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement. - Oversee a portfolio — Over time, support the leadership teams of several businesses at once, and contribute to sourcing, diligence, and integration planning for new acquisitions in the Nordics. Candidate Profile Experience - 4–8 years of experience in management or strategy consulting, private equity portfolio operations, transaction or integration services, business transformation, or operating roles in a software or technology business. - Hands-on experience with M&A integration and post-acquisition transformation; exposure to carve-outs or multi-company integrations is a plus. - Strong financial acumen: able to read and interpret financial statements and use them to drive operational decisions; familiarity with software metrics (ARR, churn, net retention, CAC/LTV) is a strong asset. - Track record of leading cross-functional initiatives from diagnosis through execution and measurable results; people-management experience is a plus. - Commercial instinct across sales, pricing, and go-to-market, and comfort working across product, operations, and finance. - Comfort with emerging technologies, including AI, and familiarity with agile and digital transformation approaches. - Bachelor's degree in business, finance, engineering, economics, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is a strong asset. - Fluency in English and Swedish, written and spoken; other Nordic languages are an asset. - Based in Sweden, with the ability to travel up to 25% for on-site integration and portfolio work. Personal Characteristics - Owner's mindset — High degree of accountability; treats the business as if it were their own. - Strategic and hands-on — Able to translate complex business challenges into actionable plans — and roll up their sleeves to deliver them. - Entrepreneurial spirit — Results-oriented, driven, proactive, and a team player. - Empathetic leader — Strong ability to influence without authority; an active listener who leads with humility and sound judgment. - Eager to grow — Coachable and curious, with a genuine appetite to learn from experienced operators and take on increasing responsibility. - Adaptable — Thrives in a fast-paced, changing environment and navigates ambiguity with agility. Why This Opportunity Stands Out - A real path to general management — A deliberately designed route from transformation to running businesses — with scope that grows as fast as you do. - Exposure across the whole business — Integration work puts you inside every function of multiple companies, building the breadth an MD needs. - Long-term backing — Valsoft's buy-and-hold-forever model means you build enduring value rather than managing toward an exit. - A proven operating model — Access to Valsoft's playbooks, capital, and global network of experienced software operators. - Grow with the Nordic platform — Join as the group expands in the region, with the opportunity to help shape its future portfolio.
