POSITION PURPOSE: LBYD Federal is seeking a GIS Analyst to provide on-site geospatial data, mapping, and analysis support to the 50th Civil Engineer Squadron at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado. The selected candidate will create, update, validate, analyze, and present geospatial information supporting facilities, utilities, Real Property, planning, construction, asset management, and emergency-response activities.The GIS Analyst will coordinate with engineers, planners, CAD personnel, facility managers, Real Property staff, construction personnel, and authorized Government data owners. The position requires data accuracy, source traceability, metadata discipline, version control, and protection of sensitive installation information.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Confirm each assignment’s purpose, authoritative data source, spatial reference, required attributes, format, due date, and acceptance requirements.Create and update geospatial features, attributes, metadata, maps, dashboards, exhibits, and analytical products.Validate geometry, topology, attribution, spatial reference, symbology, facility identifiers, source traceability, and file format.Maintain facility, utility, infrastructure, planning, environmental, construction, and asset-management geospatial data as assigned.Reconcile discrepancies among GIS, CAD, Real Property, NexGen IT, construction records, imagery, surveys, and field information.Coordinate proposed changes to authoritative records with the responsible Government data owner before implementation.Conduct or support field data collection, GPS verification, feature inventories, and condition documentation.Perform spatial analysis, data queries, map production, data conversion, quality checks, and reporting.Support GeoBase, enterprise GIS applications, web maps, databases, and Government-designated repositories.Coordinate CAD-to-GIS and GIS-to-CAD data exchange, coordinate systems, naming, and record updates.Document data lineage, assumptions, edits, quality-control results, metadata, and approval status.Prepare map products and briefings that clearly communicate findings to technical and nontechnical audiences.Perform self-checks and participate in peer, interdisciplinary, and final compliance reviews.Protect controlled, sensitive, or mission-related geospatial information in accordance with approved procedures. ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Support data calls, emergency-response products, facility inventories, field surveys, imagery review, and other duties consistent with the position and contract requirements. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in geography, geographic information systems, geospatial science, surveying, planning, engineering technology, computer science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience.Minimum of four (4) years of relevant GIS, geospatial data, mapping, asset-information, or spatial-analysis experience.Proficiency with Esri ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, or comparable enterprise GIS tools.Experience creating and editing spatial data, attributes, metadata, maps, and analytical products.Knowledge of coordinate systems, projections, topology, data quality, cartography, and geodatabase concepts.Strong data-management, documentation, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic document or data-management tools. Skills and Abilities: Ability to evaluate data quality and authority; reconcile conflicting sources; conduct spatial analysis; maintain metadata and traceability; produce clear cartographic products; coordinate data across GIS, CAD, facility, and Real Property systems; and manage multiple assignments accurately. Special Requirements: Must be able to successfully complete applicable federal background and installation-access requirements.Must be eligible to obtain and maintain required credentials, including a CAC or DBIDS credential, as applicable.Must comply with Schriever Space Force Base security, cybersecurity, geospatial-data, records-management, and information-protection requirements.Employment is contingent upon contract award, Government funding, exercise of the applicable option, and satisfaction of access requirements.Occasional local or overnight travel may be required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience supporting U.S. Air Force, U.S. Space Force, Department of Defense, or another federal agency.Experience with Air Force GeoBase, SDSFIE, enterprise geodatabases, or installation geospatial programs.Experience integrating GIS with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, BIM, NexGen IT, Tririga, Real Property, or asset-management systems.Experience with GPS/GNSS field collection, imagery, Python geoprocessing, Arcade, SQL, or web GIS applications.GISP certification or other relevant geospatial credential. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Exerts up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount frequently to move objects. Work is primarily sedentary but may include walking, standing, bending, and field data collection.Must be able to use a computer and review maps, imagery, databases, and electronic records for extended periods.Must be able to safely access facilities, exterior sites, uneven terrain, utility areas, and project locations. WORKING ENVIRONMENT:Work is performed primarily in an office environment with periodic exterior and facility fieldwork. Field activities may involve weather, uneven terrain, traffic, utility areas, and active construction locations. Required personal protective equipment and site-specific safety procedures must be followed.
