Title: Frontend Design System Engineer Key Skills: JavaScript, TypeScript, Design Systems, React, Angular, Vue, Wiz Framework, CSS/SCSS, Automated Testing, Component Architecture Experience: 7+ years of frontend development experience. Location: Costa Rica or Peru. Modality: Remote only in Costa Rica or Peru. At Coforge, we are looking for a Frontend JavaScript Design System Engineer (#20904-20-2) with the following profile. Main Responsibilities • Build and maintain reusable, scalable UI components and modules using TypeScript/JavaScript and component-based frameworks. • Develop schema-driven frontend solutions capable of dynamically rendering content through configuration-based architectures. • Translate UX/UI designs into pixel-perfect, responsive, and cross-browser compatible interfaces. • Integrate components across multiple architectural layers, including schemas, data pipelines, runtime rendering, and CMS platforms. • Develop automated unit, integration, and regression tests to ensure component quality and stability. • Ensure adherence to design system standards, performance requirements, and frontend best practices. • Optimize component maintainability, scalability, and long-term stability. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver consistent and high-quality user experiences. • Navigate complex codebases and contribute high-quality solutions with minimal supervision. Required Qualifications • 7+ years of experience in frontend software engineering. • Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript. • Experience working with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, or similar component-driven frameworks. • Ability to quickly adapt to proprietary frameworks and internal development ecosystems. • Proven experience building schema-driven and data-driven UI components. • Strong understanding of component architecture and reusable design patterns. • Advanced knowledge of CSS, SCSS/Sass, Flexbox, CSS Grid, responsive design, and design token-based systems. • Experience developing pixel-perfect user interfaces from design specifications. • Strong experience with automated testing frameworks such as Jest, Jasmine, Karma, or similar solutions. • Deep understanding of DOM lifecycle, semantic HTML, browser rendering, and frontend performance optimization. • Experience handling edge cases, dynamic content rendering, localization, and responsive behavior. • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously in complex technical environments. • Experience with Git and modern software development practices. • Upper-Intermediate to Advanced English communication skills. Preferred Qualifications • Experience working with design systems, component libraries, or enterprise-scale frontend platforms. • Previous exposure to Google technologies and frameworks such as Wiz, Blaze/Bazel, or related internal tooling. • Experience building CMS-driven frontend architectures. • Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG / a11y). • Experience with tokenized design systems. • Familiarity with frontend performance optimization and scalability practices. • Experience supporting large-scale web platforms serving high-traffic environments.
