Position Summary: Barnhart Crane & Rigging is seeking an experienced, high-caliber Director of FP&A and Treasury to elevate the analytical and financial horsepower of the organization. This role is built for a finance leader who has operated inside a mature, well-run corporate finance function and can bring modern tools, disciplined processes, thorough reporting, and insightful analytics to a fast-growing organization.The Director of FP&A and Treasury will help lead branch profitability analysis and coaching, own compensation program administration, own core treasury functions, and drive the modernization of reporting and business intelligence. This is a hands-on, player/coach role: the successful candidate will lead a small team of financial analysts while remaining deeply engaged in the analytical work itself, partnering closely with branch and departmental leadership to translate financial data into clear, actionable business insight.This is a highly visible, high-growth role for a finance leader who wants to build modern capability, take on substantial scope quickly, and grow with the organization.Key ResponsibilitiesBranch Financial PerformanceOwn branch-level profitability analysis, identifying trends, outliers, and improvement opportunities across the branch network.Serve as a financial coach to branch and operational leaders, building their financial literacy and helping them act on the numbers.Compensation ProgramsAdminister deferred compensation programs, including reporting, forecasting, and participant analysis.Support new compensation initiatives and provide analytical support to help match compensation and results.Lead compensation benchmarking projects and related market analysis.Reporting, Analytics & Business IntelligenceLead the modernization of financial reporting, converting legacy reporting systems into a modern BI platform.Design and build the monthly reporting package, executive dashboards, KPI reporting, etc. to improve visibility across the organization.Present financial and statistical data in a clear, compelling, and highly visual format for leadership audiences.Work closely with the Operations Analytics team to align reporting and ensure minimal overlap/duplication.Financial Planning, Forecasting & ModelingLead core FP&A activities with a focus on automated processes and enhanced accuracy.Develop and maintain departmental forecasts and spending targets in partnership with department leaders.Build financial models to support strategic and operational decisions, e.g. evaluating new real estate deals, software development projects, new branch locations, etc.Provide analytical support and recommendations to the Procurement leader, including spend visibility, compliance scorecards, and sourcing analysis.TreasuryOwn day-to-day cash management and cash flow forecasting, including short- and long-term liquidity visibility.Manage banking relationships and support credit facility, borrowing base, and debt covenant reporting.Oversee working capital optimization and the management of excess cash and short-term investments.Coordinate letters of credit, surety bonding, and other credit support instruments as needed.Work closely with Risk Management and help lead risk financing decisions.Projects & Process InitiativesLead cross-functional initiatives and projects around automation, AI implementation, etc.Identify and drive additional process improvement opportunities across the finance organization.LeadershipLead and develop a team of financial analysts, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.Build strong cross-functional relationships with branch, operational, and departmental leadership across the organization.Operate as a player/coach, balancing strategic leadership with hands-on analytical work.Diligently learn Barnhart’s business via training classes, site visits, etc. Some travel may be necessary.QualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.8+ years of progressive finance experience, with meaningful time spent inside a corporate finance or FP&A function at a well-run, multi-location or complex organization (experience limited to public accounting alone will not meet this bar).Strong foundation in accounting and financial statement analysis.Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills.Demonstrated experience building dashboards and reporting in a modern BI platform (e.g., Power BI).Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear business insight.PreferredCPA preferred.MBA or other advanced business degree preferred.Experience in construction, industrial services, transportation, logistics, engineering, manufacturing, or other project-based environments.Prior experience leading a team and developing talent.Experience with compensation program administration or other highly confidential financial matters.Prior treasury experience, including cash management, banking relationships, or credit facility reporting.
